Panama City Beach - Pier Park Concerts

The fourth annual Summer Concert in the Park series held annually at Pier Park on Panama City Beach begins Thursday May 29th from 7 to 9 pm. I’m always amazed at the huge crowd this brings all summer. This event put on by Panama City Beach is a great place to go with your family and enjoy a night out just spending time with one another listening to some music and socializing with others in the community. The cool thing is that it is every Thursday through September 11th. So if you can’t make it one week, it happens again the next week. Admission is free, the location is at the Aaron Bessant Park Amphitheater in Pier Park in Panama City Beach. The schedule is as follows:

• May 29 - Jon Cleary & the Absolute Monster Gentlemen, •June 5 – Beachmice, •June 12 – Bonerama, •June 19 - Bobby Lee Rodgers & the Codetalkers, •June 26 - The Howie Lee Project, •July 4 - Herd of Turtles, •July 10 - Frankie Velvet & The Might Veltones, •July 17 - Eric Lindell, •July 24 - The Donnie Sundal Trio, •July 31 - Boogie Chillun', •August 7 - The Lee Griffin Band, •August 14 - Hubba Hubba, •August 21 - Tinsley Ellis, •August 28 - Dread Clampitt, •September 4 - Todd Herendeen, •September 11 - Panama City Pops Orchestra

Panama City Beach - Rip Tides

Yesterday evening on the Beach wasn't fun. Although my family was safe one man was not. One swimmer remained missing late Saturday, a day with at least 45 beach rescues in Bay County, authorities said.
The rescues, which continued late into the evening, were the most local law enforcement could remember. "This is the worst ever," Bay County Sheriff Spokeswoman Ruth Sasser said Saturday night.
It is no fun watching helicopters look for victims.
If you are at the beach when red flags fly please stay out of the water. There is always another day when you follow the safety rules. Please be safe!

Panama City Beach - Trolley Update

With a little bit of luck and a lot of hard work, the Pier Park Express will hit the streets running this summer.
Anticipating the usual traffic congestion on the Beach, a group of Bay County business leaders and Greater Panama City Beaches Chamber of Commerce officials have been working for several months to establish weekend Bay Town Trolley service for tourists, resort employees and residents.
The current concept calls for a “Pier Park Express” route running between the Beach Wal-Mart and Pier Park along Middle Beach and Front Beach roads. The plan calls for two trolley vehicles driving back and forth on a minimum-stop route across the city from 10 a.m. until midnight Saturday and Sunday.
A workshop on the express service has been scheduled May 22 at the TPO office in Panama City.
If the committee is able to launch the new express, it will mark the second increase in Bay Town Trolley service this year. In April, the trolley expanded its weekday service with two evening hours of operation from 6 to 8 p.m.

This will be a nice addition to service if it works!
