Tourist Development Panama City Beach

The Bay County Tourist Development Council met Tuesday and the consensus was for Bay County to succeed in keeping the Beach competitive as a tourism destination, it will require increased cooperation among competing businesses, a significantly larger investment in promotion and marketing, and better communication between the industry itself and both county political leaders and ordinary citizens.
The all day meeting provided the opportunity for participants to voice opinions and suggestions ranging from the new airport, to development of new tourist attractions such as a convention center. Seems like convention centers are a common proposed solution to attraction tourists. Nashville is also looking into the possibility of a new convention center.
The participant inputs are to be compiled into a draft strategy document by March 1 that will be presented to the TDC board for review during its April meeting. The goal is to approve and publish a formal five-year strategic plan by June 1.
