• Kent-Forest Lawn Cemetary: Memorial Service at 10 a.m. Monday at Harrison Avenue and 23rd Street. Gulf State Guards Reenactors will perform honor guard duties. Details: 763-4694 or 271-8365
• Panama City Garden Club: Ceremony at 2 p.m. Monday in clubhouse at 810 Garden Club Drive. Speaker: U.S. District Judge Richard Smoak, a West Point graduate; Norma Hubbard on the young George Washington. The name of Spc. Charles Jankowski, who recently died in Iraq, will be added to Memorial Wall. Details: 763-9563.
• Celebration for troops: 1-5 p.m. Monday at The Outpost on Black Creek, 4576 Wash-ington County 3280 near Bruce. Slik Nikel will play classic rock and blues. Details: Ron at 814-4725.
• Dogs Need Weekends II: Noon to sunset Saturday through Monday on Shell Island (bayfront property in private subdivision at island's center). Sponsored by Bay Families with Dogs. Beach cleanups daily, Dogs for Donations cookout at 11 a.m., dog Frisbee competition at 2 p.m., kite-flying contest at 3 p.m., conch blowing at sunset; shorebird seminar by wildlife biologist planned.
