Rudy Giuliani Speaks in Panama City

Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani rallied with an overflow crowd at Gulf Coast Community College on Wednesday in Panama City.
The former New York City mayor, is banking on a Jan. 29 win in Florida’s presidential primary to kick-start his campaign. He argued that his proposals, on topics such as reviving the economy and handling terrorism, were superior and more beneficial to Americans than the Democratic contenders’. The former mayor first stressed the importance of remaining on “offense” in the war on terrorism. Giuliani said he, unlike some of his rivals, will strengthen the U.S. military — all branches — by boosting the number of personnel and providing more modern equipment. Giuliani Also said it was important to reduce taxes on capital gains and on corporations and to eliminate the “death tax” on inheritances. He would continue President Bush’s tax cuts, he said, many of which otherwise would expire during his term.
Turnout for the rally was a very enthusiastic crowd of close to 500.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee plans to visit Destin next Wednesday for a rally at The Palms of Destin resort. The event is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. and last about 90 minutes. The event is open to the public.
